Dear Gert,
Thank you for carrying my stone. Thank you for your friendship to me and …, I treasure your candor, kindness and thoughtfulness. Your honesty is refreshing and precious. I put my favorite poetry on the back of this card for you. It is all by George Herbert, and the are my psalms.
Your carrying my stone reminds me how much I need people around me - how dependent I am - how I am in Good Hands with God.
May God bless you journey.
Grace and RepentanceThough I fail, I weep;
Though I halt in pace,
Yet I creep
To the throne of grace.
FaithI owed thousand and much more
I did believe that I did nothing owe,
And lived accordingly; me Creditor
Believes so too, and lets me go.
Faith makes me anything, or all
That I believe is in the sacred story;
And where sin places me in Adam’s fall,
Faith sets me higher in his glory.
LoveTeach me thy love to know;
That this new light which now I see,
May both the work and workman show:
Then by a sun-beam I will climb to thee.
GratefulnessThou hast given me so much to me,Give one thing more, a grateful heart.Not thankful when I pleaseth me,As if thy blessings had spare days;But such a heart, whose pulse may be thy praise.
