I walked the same distance with my stayover day in Paris than the first day over the Pyrenees - 28 km. That is without a pack and mostly leisurely strolling around. A good practice day. Luckily I booked a place months ago 8 km in so it is only the second day which is going to be a slightly less tough day.
I spotted this row of container trees and had to walk back a 100 yards to find this vantage point. I wanted something in the photo to give it some focus with the symmetry of the trees. As it was fairly busy had to wait a while. I would have liked him to be a little closer. I am in Henri Cartier-Bresson country - the owner of the "definitive moment".
Business lunch perhaps?
Took this because it seemed like the statue was staring down at the women at his feet. His bare bottom helps to inject some humor into the situation.
Entrance to the Louvre museum.
Swans grooming itself - a couple of feet away from a couple having lunch.
I don't live in the city so this is the first electric charging station I saw. It is nice to know that electric vehicles are taking off.
Eiffel tower - reduced to the bromponie's size.
Egyptian "obelisk" which the French stole from the Egyptians when that was still "acceptible".
I like the juxtaposition of the statue, obelisk and the Eiffel tower.
I didn't take a photo but this these public toilets are self cleaning. Need a house like that.
